Pictures of My Pelleting Equipment
The second picture in from the left is the chamber where the pellets drop into. There is a small knife that cuts the pellets off as they spin around the bottom of the die. Once the pellets are cut they fall into the chamber and get spun around to pile up on the base of the knife and then out the chute. This is looking down at the bowl like set-up at the very right of the last picture on the right (top row). The die fits over the shaft and fits into a keyway. On the floor next to the machine is the top housing and the rollers that spin around and push the biomass through the die. That housing has a couple of nuts which enable you to increase or decrease the pressure on the rollers.
The next two photos in the middle row are of the hammer mill. Those rectangular “hammers” spin around and flail whatever biomass to bits, making the bits small enough to get blown through some screening at the bottom of the chamber. The chips are fed in through a chute and then blown through a cyclone separator. The last picture in the row is of my kids holding up the die.
Last row: a close up of the die, a stone wall, my kids cooking.
